For decades, he has devoted himself to the research and development of new technologies for high-efficiency and low-consumption wastewater treatment suitable for China's national conditions, and has carried out fruitful work on the biodegradation characteristics, treatment mechanisms and technologies of refractory organic matter. He has presided over the completion of "Urban Sewage Treatment and Reuse" , "Anaerobic Biological Treatment of High Concentration Organic Industrial Wastewater", "Urban Wastewater Biological Stabilization Pond" and "Treatment Technology and Mechanism of Refractory Organic Matter" and many other scientific and technological research projects of the National Science and Technology Commission and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
